Preperation
Jack leaves home for the interview to gtet the joc as the winter caretaker at the Overlook Hotel. Dick Hallorann [the cook] sees that Danny has 'The Shining' and warns him not to enter room 237. Danny enters the room. .


Complication
Jack has a writers mental block and tries to hide the fact that he is cracking up.

Transference
Jack is accused by Wendy of 'hurting' Danny, after Danny coming out of the room. Dick and Danny communicate using the shining.


Struggle
Wendy hits jack with a baseball bat and locks him up.


Return
Danny is persued by Jack through the maze. He escapes and Wendy ushers him into dead Dick Hallorann's Snow vehicle.


Recognition
Wendy and Danny escape in the vehicle and Jack freezes to death in the maze
